What Color is Your Money Frog?
I love money frogs. For those of you who don’t know what Chinese money frog is, it is a little statue of a reptile that holds a coin in its mouth. They usually have glittering rhinestone eyes. The coin that comes with the Frog also has a jewel in its center sometimes. The ones that are well manufactured come with a coin that is separate as opposed to pre-attached into the frog statue’s mouth.
Its purpose is to draw prosperity into you home and office. The ideal placement for you money frog is on a piece of furniture that is facing in the direction of your front door or in the southwest (wealth sector) of your home or office.Â
I have several of the little critters including my favorite, which seems to be made of some kind of orange plastic with red rhinestone eyes. I like the orange colored frog simply because the color orange symbolizes joy and happiness and I like to think any wealth that I receive comes to me in a happy and joyous way.
However you are more likely to find Chinese frogs in the red lacquered version as in Feng Shui the color red symbolizes wealth. Also common are the money frogs that are made of metal meant to be feng shui cures. Usually these are made out of some kind of cheap brass.
In your local Chinatown you can also find money frogs made out of precious gems such as rose quartz (for prosperity that comes as gifts) and jade (which has a protective aspect for your business.) I think it is important to pick the color of money frog that is right for you. Scroll down this blog to find links to feng shui sites that sell money frogs.
