In classical Feng Shui it is often stressed that everything in your house should be shiny and new. This is a drag for lovers of antiques and older objects who are often told that these types of objects carry astral imprints and bad energies from the past. The theory is that if this person lived an unlucky life that his or her unlucky energy could be transmitted to you. Of course on the other hand, if the person lived an auspicious life, the counter argument is that the good luck attached to the object could also be passed you.

To play it safe it is not the best idea to own antiques with a mysterious past. Collecting memorabilia from successful or famous individuals is not a bad idea as it can represent a goal or potential.
