Correspondences For A Clock Garden



In a Victorian Clock Garden, different flowers corresponded to different numbers on the clock. Here is are the classical flower to number symbolisms.

  

Budding roses are planted in the first hour

Heliotrope in the second hour

White roses in the third hour

Hycainth and Dandelion in the fourth hour

Lemonds, poppy, day lilies in the fifth hour

Lotus in the sixth hour

Lupins, garden lettuce and waterlily in the seventh hour’

Oranges in the eight hour

Olive, marigolds and chickweed in the ninth hour

Poplar in the tenth hour

Marigold in the eleventh hour

Pansy or violets in the twelfth hour
