This sector of the Ba’ gua is governed by the colors gold, yellow and orange so good flowers to plant in this area are sunflowers, tulips, sunflowers, irises, marigold, jasmine, daisies and chrysanthemums.  Wisdom is also symbolized by all grasses, flax, ferns, and bracken.

 
In this area you also might want to plant borage, peppermint, rosemary, thyme, mint, eybright, saffron, caraway, rue and St. John’s Wort. Produce that symbolizes wisdom are onions, celery, grapes and mushrooms.

 
This area is symbolized by small earth on the Feng Shui Ba’Gua so it is a good place to put a stone path or a rock garden.

If you are trying to get pregnant or are wishing the greatest happiness and prosperity for your children then you should consider activating the fertility sector of your garden. This area is located in the west and traditional rules children and fertility.

   

 

The traditional feng shui colors of this area are yellow and white so try to plant flowers that match that color scheme. Lily of the Valley, Morning Glory, Tulips, daisies, chrysanthemums and honeysuckle are nice in this area. There are also a few other flowers that symbolize happiness with children that are blue or purple such as Cyclamen, violets and lavender.

   

 

Appropriate trees to plant in this area are olive, willow, oak, pine, banana and any type of fruit tree (but especially the apple. As this area is also symbolized by the small metal element on the ba’gua placing small silver wind chimes in the trees is also recommended.

  Hawthorne and chickweed (because it multiplies so fast) is also good to plant in the fertility sector of your garden .In terms of produce, carrots, beans, cucumbers, grapes and mustard symbolize prosperity

The Southern corner of your garden is in the South and is of course symbolized mainly by the color red. Therefore it makes sense that any flowers or fruits that you plant here should be red and pink although you could also add flowers that symbolize fame in other cultures. 

  

Flowers that symbolize fame are the Bird of Paradise, sunflowers, bluebells, geraniums, poppies, trilliums (especially red or purple ones – the white ones symbolize death!) and especially red chrysanthemums. 

  

Trees and vines that symbolize fames are grapes (especially red or purple ones), cherries, plums and oranges. For foliage consider planting heather, hazel, and holly. 

  

Purple basil and bay would be herbs to plant in the southern sector along with anise (a star shaped herb) and vetiver (a compelling herb.) Produce to plant would be pomegranates, watermelons, strawberries, chili peppers, leeks and cucumbers. 

  

As this area is symbolized by fire it is the place to have a little cast iron hearth or barbecue. Keeping this area well lit at night with red lights is also recommended.

Flowers that you can plant to enhance your southwest love corner are daisies gardenia, lavender, orchid, poppy, primrose, daffodils, lillies, tulips, asters, bleeding hearts,periwinkle, hyacinth, trilliums, violet, geranium and of course roses.

Trees that are considered to be love drawing (remembering once again that I am throwing in a little pagan symbolism and mixing it up with feng shui  are  Olive Elm, Magnolia Fig, Willow andPlum,Myrtle, rye, witch grass, juniper, chickweed also favour sex and fertility.

Herbs that can give your love life a boost are rosemary, thyme, basil, marjoram, dill and mint. Produce that spices up your love life includes cumcumbers, bananas, ginger, endive, raspberries, tomatoes and any kind of element.

This area represents Big Earth on the Bagua so it is a good place to put a stone statue or a large rock or boulder. This symbolizes eternal love and emotional security.

Trees that will enhance this area include any of the fruit tree lus apple, elder, maple and oak trees. Fortunate foilage for this area includes myrtle, all mosses but especially Irish moss, ferns.

Herbs that enhance the career are  dill, goldenseal and any kind of  mint Prosperous produce includes cashews rice,  onions, oats, peas, wheat and grapes.

This sector is symbolized by water on the Ba’Gua so it is also a lucky place to put a fountain or pool. Add fish to double your career prospects.

This area governs family relationships and health. The foilage or trees that are planted here should mainly be evergreen (as they endure renew themselves) and there should be at least one big tree as the area is symbolized by the element of big wood in the Ba’ Gua. Pine, Spruces, Juniper, Magnolia and Elder trees are especially fortunate for health.

Once again I am throwing a little bit of pagan symbolism in with my Feng shui. Purple, white and yellow are good colors for this area so the ideal flowers to plant would be irises, morning glory, violet, daisies,loosestrife, meadowsweet, and hostas.

Herbs to plant in this area include eucalyptus, catnip, purslane, tobacco, hemp lavendar, linden, scullcap, vervain, marjoram and sage.

If you want to plant produce I would plant avocadoes, rhubarb, carrots, radishes and rye.

Including a splash stone at the base of the waterfall is sure to keep money circulating through your life. Goldfish or koi fish in this type of pond will also keep your coffers full

As for plants green, yellow and red are the luckiest colors. Yellow flowers that are suggested for this area are daisies, daffodils, honeysuckle, heliotrope and trilliums. I am mixing up my cultures here but in Pagan magic these are also flowers that are thought to attract wealth.

Wealth attracting trees and bushes that should be put in this sector are maple and oak trees and ANY kind of fruit tree. Pecan, walnut and any kind of nut bearing tree will also symbolize financial security.If you live in a southern climate planting a real orange, lemon or lime tree should bring great rewards. Pineapple, pomegrante and coconut trees also bring prosperity.If you live in a northern climate try planting a mock orange bush.

For foilage, mosses, ferns, hostas and any kind of bromelaids are money attracting in the Southeast corner of the garden.

Magical herbs that are known to augment one’s bank account are basil, rosemary, parsley, thyme clover, dill, mint and vervaine. If you want to plant some produce in that area then there is no bigger cash attractor than lettuce. Planting squashes, pumpkins, corn, peas, oats, onions in that area.

As this is an area in the Ba Gua that is symbolized by small wood it would be a good idea to accent it with a small garden bench, a wooden bridge over a pond or a garden swing.

One of the most natural looking benches is constructed of wooden planks that are simply placed on top of two large rocks.Log benches are also a classic fixture in Japanese gardens. Usually they are constructed out of of half of a cedar log that is outfitted with planking that serves as a backrest.

 
You can also buy Japanese eating stones, which are ornamentally carved and feature flat tops can be purchased at stores specializing in stone seats The optimal positioning of a stone seat is in a place where it gets shade at about two o’clock in the afternoon. This ensures that the stone will always be at a comfortable temperature – not too toasty and not too chilly.

Its raison d’etre is to offer the visitor to the garden a refreshing drink of water. The basin that catches the water is usually carved right into the stone and ideally the visitor would be drinking rain water. Traditonally a bamboo ladle may be supplied as a spoon to dish the water from the basin. Often because of pollution, this water is not drunk. The water is simply touched to the lips or forehead to symbolize purification.

  

Not all stone basins are used to refresh a thirsty visitor. Some ornamental basins are simply containers of water that are used to display water lilies or fish. Large stones carved in the shape of lucky animals such as a tortoise, crane, frog, fish or turtle can also serve as a statutory centerpiece for this kind of ceremonial garden pool.
