Ginkgo Tea Keeps You Alert

Recently I quit smoking and found it difficult to concentrate without nicotine. This is where Gingko tea came in handy.

The Gingko tree is also known as the silver apricot. It does not taste like apricots though – it is woody and nutty tasting.  It is also known as the “long life” because the gingko tree lives longer than any other plant in the world.

. It is also known as Yin Xing or Gingkyo. It increases blood circulation to the brain and extremities, increases metabolism, relaxes constricted vessels and improves concentration and memory.

I like it because it keeps me awake while writing ;)

Cooling Chrysanthemum Tea

If you like green tea you will love chrysanthemum tea. This is one of China’s most popular herbal teas and is also known as Ju Hua. This is a golden sweet tea that is often brewed with rock sugar to give it more taste.  It is made from dried white and yellow flowers of the chrysanthemum blossom

The best quality chrysanthemum tea comes from Huang Shan in the An Hui Province. This tea cools the body and is recommended for treating fever, sore throat, and other heat-related illnesses. I get this stuff cold or hot in cans (sold like Coke) in my local China Town. It’s absolutely fantastic on a hot summer’s day.

Chrysanthemums by the way are also used to attract a good marriage and wealth.

Edgar Cayce’s Saffron Tea Remedy For Gastritis

I was looking over the writings of Edgar Cayce and discovered this herbal remedy for ulcers, gastritis and other stomach aspects.

… morning and evening, take at least an ounce of Saffron tea which would be not only effective to the digestive forces but with the gastric forces that naturally arise in the stomach and digestive area. Added with the small quantities of the olive oil would supply food for the system and cause a tendency for an accumulation of those forces that will aid in not only ridding the condition from the blood but will aid the supply of lymph and emunctory circulation through the digestive system, and bring healing to internal forces of the body. 475-1

…take internally the Saffron Tea made the same as regular tea would be made. This would be taken twice each day, about an ounce in the morning and another ounce in the afternoon or evening. Pour a cup of boiling water over a level teaspoonful of the Saffron and allow to steep as tea. 2715-1
