The Symbolism of Cannons

The small brass, iron or metal cannons that you see in Feng Shui shops are more than just curios for civil war fanatics. Although they dosymbolize a weapon, they don’t symbolize war, but rather protection against bad energy. However if you point them in the wrong direction you can direct bad energy onto yourself.

Cannons are pointed objects so they are considered to be “arrows”  that direct bad chi. This is why you need to be very careful about where you place these arrows in your home. For instance if the cannons are positioned in the center of the home they could cause health problems. Be careful how you position them in an office as well to prevent yourself from sabotaging your own business.

Never point a cannon and the poison arrows of shar chi at yourself. The rule of thumb is to always place cannons near a window point the cannons towards the outside of the house. They are especially good for nosy neighbours or people who keep trespassing on your lawn.

The Symbolism of Gold Ingots

Gold ingots are similar to the gold bars that are in many Federal Reserves. Originally these ingots were used in china as a form of currency. The reason they are shaped like a small boat is because China was very much known for its exotic exports and shipping trades.

The same way that boats used to circulate the world to spread the wealth of China, keeping gold ingots in your home is thought to circulate prosperity. They are also a money drawing talisman that symbolizes the metal element and can be used in the appropriate corner instead of the water or wood element. One of the best places to place a gold ingot is in the South East corner.

A bowl or vase filled with gold ingots and placed at the front door attracts wealth in the same way a bowl of change does but the money attracting properties are much more amplified..

The Symbolism of the Phoenix

The Phoenix died and then rose from its own ashes. This makes it an important symbol of rebirth and new hope in Feng Shui. It represents immortality and a return from death which why it is used in Feng Shui to improve health.

The image of the Phoenix is often found in sculptures and on posters but when it coems to assistance with health matters a fan is best. This is mainly because of portability as the fan used to be carried everywhere with an ailing person.  Nowadays you can just buy a lucky charm in the shape of the bird

The most auspicious places to put a Phoenix fan are by the sick person’s best or in  the center of the home which is the area  that is the universal  health sector.
