Tips For Eight Horses Statue Placement

If you are familiar with Feng Shui statues you have probably run into the statue of eight horses by now. This is usually a one piece molded sculpture of eight horses running up hill. The statue symbolizes the charge of the brigade, the focus of one who intends to be victorious and also cash flow. This statue comes in many colors including red, green, brass or gold.  You can also sometimes find them made of jade and other semi precious stones but these versions are usually very expensive.

However in order for this statue to work for you it must be placed properly in your home. Many people think that because it is symbolic of prosperity that it could be place on a desk. However this statue should be placed at the front door with the horses appearing to run into your dwelling.  Make sure that the direction the horses are running is INTO the house and not out the front or back doors! Horses that face out the doors symbolize money flowing from away from you.

Making The Most of Symbols of Wealth

Augmenting the wealth sector of your home does not have to be that complicated. Aside from using colors such as red, green and purple and red lighting you can acquire a few inexpensive Chinese symbols to give your luck a boost as well.

One of the easiest ways to augment your wealth sector is simply to buy a few “gold” ingots in your local China Town. These ingots can also bring you wealth if you place them in your North (Career) and South (fame) sectors or on your desk.  One of the most powerful ingot statues is that of the Prosperity Buddha who is posed lifting a gold ingot over his head.

Other simple Chinese symbols that go well in this area is the statue of eight horses (placed as if they are running into your house with their backs to the door), a Chinese Money Toad (with the coin in its mouth pointing towards the door) or a statue of leaping carp.

Purple, Red And Green – The Chinese Colors of Money

Purple, Red and Green – Chinese Colors of Prosperity

If you really want to enhance the prosperity corner in any room (the southeast corner) then consider using the three colors that the Chinese find most fortuitous – purple red and green.

If you can’t stand these three colors together, which are not to most Westerner’s ideas of good taste, then you might consider creating a totemic still life made of those colors in that area.  You could create an arrangement of flowers such as a roses and irises together.

Another idea would be to create a still life using large gems and placing htem in a glass bowl. You could place a purple amytheyst, a piece of red jasper and a piece of green jade.

As things that come in threes are preferable in Fen Shui I opted to purchase three lava lamps – one in in red, one in green and one in purple.  Another solution would be to string Christmas lights in this area fitted with red, purple and green bulbs. Of course you don’t have to be so obvious about it. Yet another option is to instead insert colored light bulbs in red, green and purple in the lamps you have in this area for a subtle play of light.
