You can make a simple fernery using a covered fish bowl. Place rocks or crystals in the bottom and then top it with top soil and moss. Ferns, ivy and moss should be planted on top and sprinkled with water.  You can then decorate it with tiny religious statues.

 
You can also make one of these for Yule  using a glass tree ornament.

What’s the problem with the letter opener? It is a knife. Any sharp objects such as collections of knives, ornamental swords and even pointed crystals can be interpreted as “bad arrows.”   So you should never give something pointy and sharp as a gift.

 
Watches and clocks are also frowned on as they are not transcendent or eternal objects, at least in Feng Shui. They symbolize the number of minutes the person has left to live.

 
Roses symbolize in most cultures but they don’t in Feng Shui unless you strip the rose’s stem entirely of its thorns first. Otherwise you are wishing heartbreak on the recipient.

 
The luckiest color to wrap presents in is red which is the color of prosperity. The unluckiest is white as in Feng Shu the color symbolizes death.
