Things That Destroy a Career



The career area is in the north and there are several things that should not be placed there.This is not the area to keep potted plants. Dirt has the effect of muddying the water element in this area. Also avoid using anything made of clay or ceramic in this area as these materials represent the Earth element.

Avoid yellow and brown. Yellow and earth-toned colors are too earthy for this water area of the home.  Keep the tones as white and black as possible with a lot of glass elements.

If your career needs boosting or you hate your job then consider the following feng shui enhancements.

The North sector of you home is ruled by flowing water so this is the perfect place to install a tabletop fountain.

Black objects work well in this sector as black is the color that symbolizes water in Chinese Feng Shui.

Mirrors also equal water in feng shui, so the placement of mirrors in this sector not only doubles your chance of success but also increases the chi that is appropriate to flow through this area.

Place images that represent the lifestyle or occupation that you aspire to in this area.

Feng Shui Tips For Placing Your Desk



Here are some quick Feng Shui Tips for placing your desk in an auspicious position.

 
The most ideal locations to situate a home office, in order of best to last are the North (the Career Sector), the Southwest (the Wealth sector), the Northeast (Skills and Talents sector) or the South (the fame and recognition sector.)

 
Always sit with a solid wall behind your back. Wall represent emotional and financial support. A back with no wall is not supported by life. Never sit with a window behind you as it makes your back a point of vulnerability for negative chi.

 
Position your desk to have a clear view of the door. If this isn’t possible, hang a small mirror so you can easily view the door’s reflection.

 
Don’t put a shelf over your desk. This symbolizes things that will “hang over your head” and monkeys on your back. The sharp corners of shelves can be harsh shar chi.  If you do have a shelf over your head hang chimes from it and don’t overload it with heavy objects as the shelf can symbolize burdens.
