Feng Shui and Fonts

Feng Shui Friendly Fonts

Feng Shui can also apply to the type of fonts that you use when you design a website, resume or even a contract. After all, Feng Shui is about the fine art of object placement and the way you place letters or words on a page may have a subtle influence on your good fortune.

The idea is to choose a font that is not too cluttered looking and that has some rounded letters.  Here is a breakdown of what you should be looking for in a Font.

First of all avoid tiny fonts. Times New Roman may seem like a good choice for a font as it is so official looking. However the design of Times New Roman is very yin, thus suggesting a control freak or person who is not open to new information. Also Times New Roman fits almost 700 words to a page rather than the usual 500 which can make a page look cluttered or “too full”. Also avoid Antiqua,

Fonts that are shorter and squatter in nature are too Yang and suggest flakiness or unreliability. These include Bookman, Microsoft Sans Serif, Courier and Century Gothic.

Fonts that are tall with just a touch of embellishment are good. These include Arial, Helvetica, elementary, Palatino and Tahoma.

Try to choose fonts that have a few curves. Trebuchet is a fairly good choice of font simply because it contains many rounded curves that in terms of object placement on the page. Other fonts with nicely rounded letters include Georgia, Basic Sans, Bookman, Tennessee and Blue Ridge.

Feng Shui For Finding A New Job

Feng Shui For Finding A New Job    If you have been unemployed for a while (an all too common condition in this Brave New World) and are having trouble finding a job the culprit may very well be clutter. The problem with being unemployed is that it often leads to a state of semi-depression and complacency. The first Feng Shui remedy for finding a new job would be to clean up your desktops – both the desktop on your computer and the one that holds all of your important papers. If you are one of those people who uses a kitchen or dining room table as a desktop then another cure would be to create a kind of job search central by buying a table or desk that is specifically devoted to looking for a job.   By the way when it comes to clearing clutter you can also declutter your resume by taking any unnecessary embellishments off of it. This applies to both the font and layout as well as the content.

The reason you want to release as much clutter as possible is so that new chi can circulate through your life and make you open to new opportunities. Any objects that you throw out, especially those related to your old life should be replaced by red colored objects as they represent the element of fire. A red candle or red lava lamp placed in a southwest corner may work wonders.
