Too much green in this sector is said by some to cause cancer as green encourages everything to grow, not just that which you want to …green is not a good color to have in your bedroom if you have cancer either.

Clutter – The planet Venus rules prosperous energy. There is an old saying that the goddess Venus won’t set foot in a dirty home. Piles of junk serve as an obstacle so that positive energy cannot pool and accumulate in your space.

Kitty litter boxes – Animal toilets have the same negative association as toilets — especially if they smell bad.

Broken things – The theory is that ” If it’s broke, you probably are too! “Remove anything that doesn’t work including clocks that keep the wrong time, dead batteries and similar decrepit items from this area. Also replace any burnt out light bulbs, as it is essential that this area be well lit.

Dead or withering plants -Anything obviously decomposing is antithetical to the energy of prosperity and should be removed..

Trash cans. Like the toilet, this item drains vital energy from the prosperity area. Overflowing trash cans can mean being overwhelmed with problems.

Leaks. If you have a kitchen or a bathroom with a leaky faucet in this area than the theory is that your money will also be leaking away.

Toilets. If you have a toilet make sure that you keep the lid closed at all times to keep your cash from being “flushed away.”

Exposed drains – Keep all plugs in your drains when not in use. Also it is a good idea to close your shower curtain to prevent money from “going down the drain.”

The most ideal locations to situate a home office, in order of best to last are the North (the Career Sector), the Southwest (the Wealth sector), the Northeast (Skills and Talents sector) or the South (the fame and recognition sector.)

 
Always sit with a solid wall behind your back. Wall represent emotional and financial support. A back with no wall is not supported by life. Never sit with a window behind you as it makes your back a point of vulnerability for negative chi.

 
Position your desk to have a clear view of the door. If this isn’t possible, hang a small mirror so you can easily view the door’s reflection.

 
Don’t put a shelf over your desk. This symbolizes things that will “hang over your head” and monkeys on your back. The sharp corners of shelves can be harsh shar chi.  If you do have a shelf over your head hang chimes from it and don’t overload it with heavy objects as the shelf can symbolize burdens.

Flowers that you can plant to enhance your southwest love corner are daisies gardenia, lavender, orchid, poppy, primrose, daffodils, lillies, tulips, asters, bleeding hearts,periwinkle, hyacinth, trilliums, violet, geranium and of course roses.

Trees that are considered to be love drawing (remembering once again that I am throwing in a little pagan symbolism and mixing it up with feng shui  are  Olive Elm, Magnolia Fig, Willow andPlum,Myrtle, rye, witch grass, juniper, chickweed also favour sex and fertility.

Herbs that can give your love life a boost are rosemary, thyme, basil, marjoram, dill and mint. Produce that spices up your love life includes cumcumbers, bananas, ginger, endive, raspberries, tomatoes and any kind of element.

This area represents Big Earth on the Bagua so it is a good place to put a stone statue or a large rock or boulder. This symbolizes eternal love and emotional security.

Trees that will enhance this area include any of the fruit tree lus apple, elder, maple and oak trees. Fortunate foilage for this area includes myrtle, all mosses but especially Irish moss, ferns.

Herbs that enhance the career are  dill, goldenseal and any kind of  mint Prosperous produce includes cashews rice,  onions, oats, peas, wheat and grapes.

This sector is symbolized by water on the Ba’Gua so it is also a lucky place to put a fountain or pool. Add fish to double your career prospects.

This area governs family relationships and health. The foilage or trees that are planted here should mainly be evergreen (as they endure renew themselves) and there should be at least one big tree as the area is symbolized by the element of big wood in the Ba’ Gua. Pine, Spruces, Juniper, Magnolia and Elder trees are especially fortunate for health.

Once again I am throwing a little bit of pagan symbolism in with my Feng shui. Purple, white and yellow are good colors for this area so the ideal flowers to plant would be irises, morning glory, violet, daisies,loosestrife, meadowsweet, and hostas.

Herbs to plant in this area include eucalyptus, catnip, purslane, tobacco, hemp lavendar, linden, scullcap, vervain, marjoram and sage.

If you want to plant produce I would plant avocadoes, rhubarb, carrots, radishes and rye.

Including a splash stone at the base of the waterfall is sure to keep money circulating through your life. Goldfish or koi fish in this type of pond will also keep your coffers full

As for plants green, yellow and red are the luckiest colors. Yellow flowers that are suggested for this area are daisies, daffodils, honeysuckle, heliotrope and trilliums. I am mixing up my cultures here but in Pagan magic these are also flowers that are thought to attract wealth.

Wealth attracting trees and bushes that should be put in this sector are maple and oak trees and ANY kind of fruit tree. Pecan, walnut and any kind of nut bearing tree will also symbolize financial security.If you live in a southern climate planting a real orange, lemon or lime tree should bring great rewards. Pineapple, pomegrante and coconut trees also bring prosperity.If you live in a northern climate try planting a mock orange bush.

For foilage, mosses, ferns, hostas and any kind of bromelaids are money attracting in the Southeast corner of the garden.

Magical herbs that are known to augment one’s bank account are basil, rosemary, parsley, thyme clover, dill, mint and vervaine. If you want to plant some produce in that area then there is no bigger cash attractor than lettuce. Planting squashes, pumpkins, corn, peas, oats, onions in that area.

As this is an area in the Ba Gua that is symbolized by small wood it would be a good idea to accent it with a small garden bench, a wooden bridge over a pond or a garden swing.

Its raison d’etre is to offer the visitor to the garden a refreshing drink of water. The basin that catches the water is usually carved right into the stone and ideally the visitor would be drinking rain water. Traditonally a bamboo ladle may be supplied as a spoon to dish the water from the basin. Often because of pollution, this water is not drunk. The water is simply touched to the lips or forehead to symbolize purification.

  

Not all stone basins are used to refresh a thirsty visitor. Some ornamental basins are simply containers of water that are used to display water lilies or fish. Large stones carved in the shape of lucky animals such as a tortoise, crane, frog, fish or turtle can also serve as a statutory centerpiece for this kind of ceremonial garden pool.

In general they symbolize eternity and endurance. They also represent fertility because they have a strong phallic shape.

 
In Japan the most treasured stones and boulders are mined from the mountains near Kyoto. Warlords often handed stones from their gardens down through generations.

 
In Japanese garden design, stones are used in combination with other stones, or sand to imply a natural scene or to create an abstract design. The shapes of natural stones have been divided into five categories called “the five natural stones. The Japanese used the Chinese characters of wood, fire, earth, metal and water to represent stone elements. These elements are applied to five classes of stone shapes:

 
1. Taido stones:  These are tall vertical stones that are meant to suggest the presence of tall trees. They symbolize the wood element.

2. Reisho stones: These are low flat stones that are also sometimes called soul stones. They represent metal.

3. Shigyo stones: These are arching stone or ones with protuberances that are shaped like fires. They represent the fire element.

4.Shintai stones: These are very flat or horizontal stones. They represent pools of water.

5. Kikyaku stones: These stones often look like small recliners or seats. They represent the earth element.
