Celebrity Perfumes Catch on To “The Aromatherapy Thing”

Being a bit of snob when it comes to aromatherapy and essential oils, I have always dismissed celebrity perfumes as being too synthetic and probably a fine source of allergens and chemicals as well. Give me a master perfumer like Annick Goutal who travels the world to find just the right bit of seaweed or the finest rarest blossom to put in her complex multi-layered (and very healing) perfumes. If you don’t know the story of Annick Goutal, she is a breast cancer survivor who was discovered by French Perfumers as having an “incredible nose.”

However the question today can celebrities also be capable of mixing a healing or genuinely uplifting scent that has the similar transcendatal qualities as an essential oil blend? I was perusing the latest celebrity perfumes and noted with great interest that they are being concocted with more originality and attention to pure oils. I guess in Hollywood it is because the rarer, more expensive and more precious the oils are in your celebrity perfume the more of a status symbol it is. The exception of course is Jessica Simpson who is still putting out perfumes full of white trash synthetic flavors such Vanilla Cupcake and Strawberry Sorbet.

Anyhoo the side benefit of all of this vanity and personal conceit is that the perfumes are infinitely more wearable and more attractive to an aromatherapy addict.

Here is a run down of the newest celebrity perfumes, the essential oils they contain and their likely beneficial effects.

LOVELY BY SARAH JESSICA PARKER should have actually been named ANTIDEPRESSANT. It contains mandarin, orchid and cedar and all three essential oils are mood elevators.

LIVE BY JENNIFER LOPEZ quite oddly adds ups to be a scent that says something like “using your feminine charms to get to the top.” It contains pineapple and sandalwood which are prosperity drawing scents, vanilla which is very attractive to males and aura cleansing lemon to make sure toxic types don’t get in your way!

The Olsen Twins, Mary Kate and Ashley have come up with two fragrances called NY and LA. It is also a bit strange how these two rich girls have loaded both scents with prosperity drawing oils. LA has guava and honeysucklle in it and both oils are renowned in metaphysics for being money magnets. NYC contains orange and pomegrante oils which are also classic money drawing oils (if you want to believe Raymond Buckland the author of the Magic in Food.) This begs the question – Are they twin witches too?

Not surprisingly JUST ME BY PARIS HILTON is all about sex. It contains musk, white roses and pink peppercorns (which are a big antidepressant!)

Britney Spears put some master perfumers to work to create her fragrance which is all about being unique. It contains red lychee (prosperity drawing) and white chocolate orchid (which screams vagina power!) However like all things destined to be mass marketed it is ruined with an artificial synthetic note that smells like vanilla cupcakes (and also quite a bit like Jessica Simpson whose new scent is something called Vanilla Cupcake.)

If you are interested in the erotic or money drawing effects of any of these perfumes I hunted around on the internet and found a site where you can get 100% Brand Name Fragrances Up To 70% OFF

Of course you could also get a little bit inventive and simply mix up your own purer parody of these celebrity fragrances by mixing up essential oils in a carrier oil. For instance, Just Me By Paris Hilton would be very easy to replicate using orange, musk and rose oil. Lovely By Jessica Parker would also be pretty simple as it is made of three very common oils - orange, cedarwood and orchid.

Another tip is that anything that smells like a cupcake is just probably loaded with vanilla absolute. If you are looking to buy quality essential oils on the cheap click here.

The Best Essential Oils For Depression (S.A.D.)

Tis the season to be … S.A.D. S.A.D stands for seasonal affective disorder and it hits most of us who live in colder climates during the “blah months of January, February and March.

Most essential oils work on the limbic system of the brain somehow to balance out emotional and mental inequities. However there are few specific oils that are particularily effective for depression.  Many of them naturally have a camphorous component and are good for clearing toxic imprints out of the aura.  The oils I am about to shortlist are particularily effective on depression caused by light deprivation, dull dark days and cranky, unmotivated people. They can be dispersed through the air using a diffuser or a few drops can be diluted in a carrier oil such as almond or jojoba and applied directly to the skin.

Angelica Oil – I recommend this oil because it wakes you up (but gently). It is both fiery and earthy which makes it both restorative and revtalizing at the same time. It smells like a mix of greens, musk and spice. The strongest, most pungent and therefore effective oil to use is Angelica Seed oil.

Benzoin – This ancient Egyptian resin elevates the mood while comforting at the same time. It’s vanilla like scent is uplifting and stimulates the circulation to the brain and heart. If you are feeling cut off from your feelings because of depression this oil can make you feel human again.

Bergamot – Bergamot is good in the bath (add about ten drops in a carrier oil to bath water.) It is particularily effective for relieving despondency. stress, depression and anxiety. It has a fresh, citrus like green scent.

Cedarwood Atlas – This is not just any cedarwood, it is the famous Cedar of Lebanon that was used to annoint the bodies of the dead. This sweet, slightly camphorous scent can help bring you back from the dead with its mood elevating, stimulating and aphrodisiac qualities.

Frankincense - This ancient aromatic clears cobwebs from the dull mind. It is a mood elevator that also has a slight sedative effect so it is great for people who need to pull things back into focus and get stuff done.

Galbunum – This green musky resin is one of the oldest healing scents on earth. It has anti-depressant and soothing qualities and is used to treat the headaches that can accompany depression as well as relieve anxiety, nervous tension and stress.

Geranium – This peppery floral oil is a bona-fide antidepressant that stimulates the adrenal cortex and the lymphatic system. It is particularily recommended for those poor women who are suffering from menopause and S.A.D. at the same time.

Jasmine – This exotic, tea-like floral is an anti-depressant and aphrodisiac. It is an adaptive substance meaning that if you are down it will bring you up and if you are too anxious it will soothe your nerves.

Lemon – This common oil is a mental stimulant that strengthens both the nervous and sympathatic nervous system.  It revives tired minds and bodies.

Linden - This tree oil smells like a blend of honey and hay. It is a mild antidepressant that is also soothing and calming.

Rosemary - This humble culinary herb is a tonic to the nervous system that gently stimulates mental processes. It refreshes the mind without causing anxiety.

Yarrow – This healing herb has a refreshing green herbacious scent with a hint of camphor. It strengthens the nerves and grounds anxiety while at the same time mildly stimulating the brain.

Of course there are many other essential oils that have an uplifting effect on the mind and body including juniper oil, pine oil, rose oil, melissa oil, thyme oil and scores of others. I have found a massive discount site that sells these oils cheaper than most places called Essential-Oils

If you have a particular emotional problem I can help you find the oils that might help you according to the nature of your depression. If you want to talk to me on a chat in person go to Kasamba’s main page Live Expert Advice! and type Samantha From The Realm in the search engine.

If you suspect your depression is due to some kind of astral attack (either from a live person such as an ex boyfriend or a problem with your ancestors) I also address these issues quite thoroughly in my book Psychic Self Defence which is at www.lulu.com/spiritbooks
