You will need:

 
1 tbls bicarbonate soda

 5 drops essential oil of Rosemary

 juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp. quality oil, such as sweet almond ½ cup sea salt

One yellow candle

One pink candle

One violet candle

One orange candle

 
Dissolve all ingredients into the bath water.  Light the four candles (and place at the 4 corners of the tub. Be comforted.

 
Don’t rinse the stuff off. Pat dry and remember the dreams you have that night.

Oil diffusers that are meant for therapeutic use are much more expensive than what you probably need to use on a daily basis. I just bought a therapeutic grade oil diffuser which consists of a fish pump and a glass bulb. The idea is the oil is pushed through the tube so that it is cold diffused through the air. The effect of this is very pungent and I don’t run it for too long because it is almost too effective! It fills my 800 square foot space with aroma so strong that I have to open a few windows.

  

The cheapest thing to do is simply put a few drops of oil on a tissue and tuck it beside your pillow. This is good if you are using lavender oil to try to get to sleep or eucalyptus oil to heal chest congestion.

  

Another cheap method of diffusing oils is to simply put a few drops in a vaporizer and let the essential oils be diffused through the air in the molecules of water.

  

Just as another word of warning, remember to keep animals away from diffusers or vaporizers as they have less tolerance for aromatics which build up in their bodies and make them ill.

Even the finest quality wax candles can cause Black Deposition Syndrome if they contain enough additives and unfortunately essential oils are counted among the pollutant that can substantially dirty up your house’s air.  The black soot that is dispersed into the air along with your aromatherapy is the product of the incomplete combustion of the essential oils. A candle that contains synthetic essential oils and paraffin might produce as much as 100 times soot as an ordinary candle.

So there you are, the picture of perfect self-knowledge burning eucalyptus, peppermint and juniper scented candles to purify your air when the entire time you are setting yourself up for a bad case of dirty house syndrome. If you have a respiratory problem such as chronic asthma or bronchitis or are allergic to something unknown it might be the aromatherapy candles you are burning.

How do you tell if your aromatherapy candle is causing Black Deposition Syndrome? If the flame is burning yellow it is probably emitting a lot of smoke. If the flame is burning blue then it emits less soot. Beeswax candles tend to emit the bluest flame and thus cause the least indoor pollution.
