It is possible to turn your  back yard into an aromatherapy spa. This is especially true on a hot sunny humid day which encourages the scent of common gardern herbs to disperse through the air.

 
Some herbs definitely smell stronger than others.  Rosemary is a sun loving herb that is invigorating and head clearing. Lavender, especially spike lavender fills your garden with a gorgeous honey like scent that is especially calming. Other aromatic herbs include oregano, marjoram, laurel, lemon balm, basil and thyme.

 
One of the strongest smelling herbs you can plant is mint. However it is a good idea to keep this herb confined to a pot as it spreads fast and can choke out the  other herbs and plants in your garden.
