The Life Line runs from the edge of the palm above the thumb  (and is often joined with the head line)  travels towards the wrist. This line represents the person’s vitality physical health and general well being.  The deeper it is, the stronger the person’s life force is. 

The life line can reflect major life changes, including traumas, physical injuries, and relocations. It also can indicate the length of life. However many contemporary palm readers generally do not believe that the length of the life line matters at all but rather the depth of the lineinto the skin matters more.

One thing that should be mentioned here is that palmists do not necessary measure the length of a life according to the length of the life line. Although a life line that extends strongly from the edge of the palm just above the palm downwards to the wrist is considered to be a good sign, anything shorter is not necessarily a prediction of the age of death.  Although shorter life lines might be a cause for a concern, it is fainter or feathered looking life lines that reveal the extent of life.

Often a shorter life line indicates life cataclysms, brain injuries or a physical disability rather than an actual shortage of years left to live.
