Equally devastating were 2006 European floods that sent thousands of emergency workers in Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia to the dikes to try and prevent flooding along the swollen Danube River. Looking back the Saturn Retrograde was really tough on us this year too. Saturn the planet of limitations and bondage did a real job on us during the first quarter of this past year..  For instance –after four years of legal efforts to get the names of about 490 Guantanamo Bay inmates released, the United States was forced by a federal judge’s ruling to release transcripts of hearings of 317 of them. Shortly afterwards, the United States methods of interrogation and torture are also brought into question. This is an example of how a Saturn influence might actually be a cloud with a silver lining.

 
The secrets of the rich and famous were also revealed as is typical of a Saturn retrograde. Leo is also an astrological sign that represents fame.  During this time British Rock star Gary Glitter was convicted of the molestation of one 11- and one 12-year-old girl in the town of Vung Tau in southern Vietnam.
