Planting According to Lunar Phases
Since time immemorial man has been planting gardens according to the phases of the moon.
During the first quarter of the moon plant anything green. Plant broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, cucumbers, parsley, watercress, celery, lettuce and spinach.
During the second quarter of the moon plant all vegetables that are round. This includes melons beans, peppers, tomatoes, squash, gourds, pumpkins and peas.
During the third quarter when the moon is waning plan to plant everything with a root such as turnips, carrots, beets and radishes.
During the fourth quarter (the dark of the moon) let the ground lie fallow. This is the best time to weed and turn over you soil.
